A well-seasoned strategic leader, the Managing Director’s role is to be the complimentary counterpart to the CEO, helping to align the operational, client relationship and cultural success of the agency; also responsible for implementing and driving US strategy and for delivering US financial performance. This will be the person who gets stuff done and empowers others to perform at their best. Initially the focus will be driving new positioning and proposition of the company offer, to future proof collective commercial success, differentiate the brand offer and fuel growth in new market areas. This will include leadership, direction and performance assessment of the US team. In addition this role will drive new business development, through pitch mentoring, participation where necessary, and external brand building activities. Also expect senior level/C-suite engagement of key client relationships.
You will have a fundamental understanding of the branding industry and the ability to get under the skin of clients and understand what makes them tick. You must understand what clients want from their agency and have the ability to help deliver it. The successful MD will be a natural strategist and thought leader who will help build, inspire and nurture a strong and collaborative team; ensuring reporting on revenue, utilization and profitability; and managing to target levels of revenue growth and profit. Highly connected and passionate, you are client and business driven (grow existing clients, revive old contacts, and above all get new clients) and believe that branding and visual design are the cornerstones of a long-term powerful consumer connection.
Seeking candidates with proven agency management experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, a strong network and a track record for securing new business and growing existing client business. With a start-up spirit, you are graduated from a business communication university and have 12-15+ years of experience working in a design/ad agency or similar. CPG experience a plus.
