PLACED: Senior Analyst, Social Media, $100-115K; NYC (Freelance or Full Time)

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Analyst to join the social practice at a digital innovation agency, on a major new account. This well-respected shop brings together product design, brand communications and social content to help businesses thrive. They are currently expanding as a business, and the Analytics discipline, and want to continue that success by collaborating with their social, strategy, design, and technology teams.

We’re looking for a person who loves research and analytics but who isn’t a robot. Someone who sees humans and how they behave in all the numbers. Someone who would rather tell you a good story about numbers than simply email a spreadsheet. Someone who understands the give and take between data and emotion when trying to get to great work. This person will have deep experience in social and digital analytics and platforms.

Role + Responsibilities:

  • Help clients understand the environment in which they compete – competitive analysis, social listening, keyword analysis and broader market trends
  • Help determine how clients can compete – information architecture, content strategy, social strategy, meta data, measurement and testing
  • Able to handle complex client environments; being able to understand the motives of different client teams and how this impacts use of data
  • Hands-on user of enterprise level such as Brandwatch, Sysomos, MOZ and be able to give clear direction to other teammates to help execute
  • Partner in the strategic process as the Analytics expert, providing insights into the best strategies and tactics to achieve business objectives through social
  • Help construct and execute nimble reporting plans that can adapt with new technologies and data
  • Help educate clients and teams about your discipline and how they can use it to make a bigger impact in their business

Skills + Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years experience in social media, digital analytics
  • Ability to confidently coach clients and colleagues about the pros and cons of different social tools and the data landscape
  • Proven success at guiding clients in refining their KPI approach
  • Ability to identify and resolve challenges with data-integrity in high pressure environments
  • Deep experience in Google Analytics, Sysomos or Brandwatch
  • Solid understanding of social listening, publishing, engagement and paid tech
  • Deep experience in Excel and doesn’t shy away from pivot tables and statistics
  • Passion for digital culture and inventing solutions to tomorrow’s challenges today
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills with ability to synthesize and express complex ideas in accessible forms
  • Experience working on a large global account a plus
  • Insurance category experience a double plus

Looking to make the leap to the client side?  Fast-growing, boutique pet food brand needs an enthusiastic self-starter with an interest in animals to join their nimble Creative team.  Passionate about their work, they’re pet lovers invested in making a real difference in pets’ lives.  And you’ll be given the opportunity to help take their digital and social media creative to the next level, further building this mission-driven brand. You’ll concept and execute a range of creative work – from smaller, real-time pieces of social content to longer-term branding initiatives.

As Digital Designer, you’ll help to grow this exciting brand and to cultivate their expanding online communities. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of UX and an interest in social media platforms and their abilities/limitations, design-wise. You’re on top of the latest memes or popular content, maintain personal accounts on social, and have strong design skills – as you’ll work closely with the Social Media Marketing Manager to create eye-catching, impactful content.  Please be sharp, flexible, and curious to find the best way to visually engage an audience and tell a brand story.
Candidates should have 1-3+ years of experience designing at a social media agency, handling social media in-house for a brand, or working at a digital agency or advertising agency. Please have strong typography skills, a love and mastery of Photoshop, and be comfortable in Adobe CS programs.  Illustration skills, amateur photography and knowledge of iMovie or Final Cut Pro could all be useful tools. CPG experience is a major plus.

Global advertising agency with a family-style environment is seeking a seasoned specialist in the areas of brand content, brand publishing and social marketing; someone who wants to weave content-led, trans-media narratives.  Known as a business communications specialist, this shop works with top-tier clients in the financial, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing/industrial arenas.  While previous experience in these categories is helpful, a genuine interest in these ever-changing industries is just as valuable; as is a curiosity for exploring the B2B space.  You will lead the Social Media team day-to-day; ideal candidates will have experience developing, implementing, and measuring digital communications strategies including social technologies, mobile devices/platforms and websites, as well as traditional advertising efforts across all clients. You’ll supervise Community Managers (on-site and remotely) and identify influencers through social monitoring and custom analysis tools such as Crimson Hexagon and Hoot Suite, while distilling big data into actionable communications insights. Please have familiarity designing, developing and syndicating, aggregating and federating brand content with a proven ability to use myriad forms of content to reveal various aspects of a brand’s narrative to relevant audiences.  You will be expected to be a Social Media Evangelist, who is able to help lead and educate the agency.  Due to the close collaboration between the Social Media and the Creative department, you’ll report into the Chief Creative Officer.  6+ yrs exp in advertising/digital/PR/media.
